Using
I find it fascinating and informative to learn what hardware, software and tools people use, so I'm sharing the same info. These things change over time, so this is not a fixed list.
Computers
- Latte Panda Single board computer, previously used for Birdhouse project, now my audio/hobby Linux device
- Macbook Pro Used for day job, good hardware but locked-in software
- Pinebook Pro Low cost laptop Linux, open and theoretically modify-able. ARM architecture. Quite underpowered for most tasks, but ok for occasional web browsing and light tasks.
- Old Macbook Pro Running 32bit Mac programs like EyeTv, for encoding VHS to digital
- Broken Macbook Pros Functional with external screen, keyboard and plugged in power. May attempt to repurpose later as Linux servers.
Audio
- Grid and Norns from Monome
- Teletouch from Olivia Artz Modular
- Eurorack
- AE Modular
- Zoom U-44 portable audio interface
- Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators
Photography
- Lumix GX-1 Older digital camera, capable of shooting in RAW
- Pentax 35mm Purchased by my dad in the 70's. Completely manual, and very intuitive to use.
- Nikon Coolpix P900 Extreme zoom in a point-shoot that looks like a DSLR, great for bird photography.
